Hello!
My name is Maxine and I am a passionate, self-confessed voice nerd.
I have a keen understanding of the voice & its anatomy, and I love imparting that knowledge to my students in a manner that is engaging, clear & fun.
For me, it's all about you guys - my students.
I am committed to bringing out the best in each singer in all facets of their vocal training. I ensure that each student knows that my studio is a space where they can be brave - I want you to dare to try something new which will advance you technically, musically and personally.
I have been singing and performing since I was a kid. Music theatre was my first love and my vocal training led me into opera. After graduating with a BMus from the University of Melbourne and a GradDipMus (Opera Performance) from Griffith University, I studied at the National Opera Studio in London.
I am a qualified Vocal Health First Aider and an accredited Mental Health First Aider. Presently, I am a candidate to become an Estill Master Trainer (Estill Voice Training teaches isolated control of the individual anatomical structures with the voice production system).
Some of my favourite performances from over the years include Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor (Melbourne City Opera), Micaëla in Carmen (Melbourne Opera), Second Lady in The Magic Flute (Victorian Opera), Lady of the Lake in Spamalot (BLOC) and Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd (BLOC), for which I won a Music Theatre Guild Award.
